Best. Wedding. Ever.

I went to a wedding on Friday that changed my life. I have known the bride and groom for years, but watching them stand up and declare their love for one another in the most authentic ceremony I have ever seen has inspired me. Not to get married, necessarily, but to be more honest--to be radically honest in my daily life.

And this means being more honest in my writing. For me, writing is making sense of life. Making sense of life heals me and allows me to leave the past where it belongs: behind me. As I continue on this journey to complete my first memoir I have become aware that this process is one of co-creation not only of a manuscript, but of a life; of a future that is liberated when the past is healed.

Well, "hot damn!" as my mother would say. Lets get this party started!

  2. "I have become aware that this process is one of co-creation . . . of a future that is liberated when the past is healed." Now that is TRUTH!!!
Proverbs 12:18 says "Reckless words pierce like a sword, but the tongue of the wise brings healing." Your tongue is WISE Duffy Jo! xoxoxo
